When the economy is bad, it affects all Americans.
When our children are not being educated, it affects all Americans.
When our air and water are polluted, it affects all Americans.
We are all in this together — not as Republicans or Democrats but as Americans.
I’m tired of partisan bickering in Washington. I’m tired of reading about which party won or lost on a particular legislative proposal. When the parties cannot, or will not, work together to solve our common problems we all lose.
As the old saying goes, “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem,” and Phil Roe is part of the problem.
An idea is not good or bad just because it came from a member of one party or the other. Every proposal must be considered on its merits, and judged by how it helps all of us. But that’s not the standard Phil Roe applies.
Phil Roe votes with the Republican majority 98% on the time. I have a hard time believing that either party can be right on the issues 98% of the time.
The people of Northeast Tennessee know this is true. Regardless of our individual political leanings, we all want a Representative who will vote based on what is best for America –not just what is best for his or her Party.
It’s time to end the partisan gridlock in Congress and elect someone who will base his votes on the merits of a legislative proposal.
